Tatenwerk is a non-profit social association whose member organisations create assistance services and inclusive spaces in dialogue with their clients, enabling greater participation for people with disabilities in all areas of life.

In a multi-month brand identity and design process, we worked with the team at St. Josefs-Stift to develop a new umbrella brand for the social association while simultaneously modernising the design of its five individual organisations.

A defining feature of the design system is a set of geometric modular elements that can be filled, combined, and used as individual shapes. The wordmarks of Tatenwerk and its operating companies consist of a harmonious mix of sans and slab serif glyphs, subtly conveying the theme of diversity. The result is a friendly, open wordmark that surprises with distinctive and unconventional letterforms in its details.
